British Rockers Deep Purple to Perform at The Pearl with The Steve Beyer Orchestra

British rock icons Deep Purple will make a stop at The Pearl Concert Theatre at The Palms Las Vegas on June 23, 2011 with The Steve Beyer Orchestra and special guest Ernie & The Automatics.

Formed in Hertford, England in 1968, Deep Purple are considered by many to be one of the great pioneers of heavy metal and modern rock. The group incorporated a wide variety of genres into their music throughout their career, including pop, blues, rock, classical and progressive rock, and in the process, sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

Although Deep Purple went through constant member changes, their most successful lineup was Ian Gillan on vocals, Jon Lord on keyboards, Roger Glover on bass, Ian Paice on drums and Ritchie Blackmore on guitar. One of the most notable characteristics of Deep Purple is the fact that they are in the Guiness Book of World Records for being the loudest band in the world.

Throughout their more than 40-year career, Deep Purple has released a total of 18 studio albums and an incredible 34 live albums. The group's most popular song, "Smoke on the Water" was released on their 1972 album Machine Head and appears on a number of magazine lists, including Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks.

Kicking off in June 2011, Deep Purple's The Songs That Built Rock Tour will feature a 38-piece orchestra and will mark the first time that the group has toured the United States in four years. The setlist will include all the hits that made the group famous throughout their 42-year career.
